Mix and scratch your music on a hyper-realistic turntable interface. In djay 2, virtual grooves are individually mapped and rendered for every song on djay’s virtual records. It allows to quickly identify breaks within a song, as if it was real vinyl fresh off the press.
Retaining the simplicity of the traditional DJ turntable look-and-feel, djay 2 also features a stunning waveform layer, which allows you to touch and interact with your music at an unprecedented level of detail and clarity. HD Waveforms provide you with precise visual cues that highlight similar sounds with similar colors, leveraging the full resolution of the Retina display.
djay’s new spectral timeline allows you to visualize the structure of a song through color (intro, chorus, verse, etc.) and identify similar parts within a song.
Allows you to visually identify individual parts of the audio based on frequency ( e.g. bass, snare, high-hat, etc ). Each element has its own identifiable look.
Seamlessly blend songs together with the tap of a button. Perfect Sync ensures they always stay beat-synchronized for a perfect transition or a continuous mash-up.
The enhanced audio analysis in djay 2 auto-detects bars and visualizes exact beat markers on the waveform. This allows you to precisely cue or visually beat match two songs.
Slice Mode turns the beats in the waveform into temporary hot cues so you create stunning remixes on the fly. Slip Mode lets you scratch without losing the beat – perform a scratch session and the music will snap back in time seamlessly when you release.
djay’s music library integrates with both iTunes and Spotify, and makes finding and queuing songs easier than ever before. With intuitive swipe gestures, you can quickly build playlists based on song requests and upcoming tracks on the spot. It also includes a history playlist that automatically tracks played songs. This allows you to see what has already been played during your session, making it easy to recreate a great mix.
Adjust interface appearance to a bright day-time environment or flip the switch and enter into a dark club lighting mode.
Build up a playlist on the fly of upcoming songs and requests.
Tip: swipe songs in the library to quickly add them to the queue. Or tap and hold a song to access more options.
Easily switch between fullscreen and pop-over view.
You can now preview upcoming songs from within the library before loading it to the deck. This allows you to quickly find out if a track fits into your current mix.
See what has already been played during your session and easily recreate a great mix later.
Over 30 new desktop-class audio effects powered by Sugar Bytes are available via In-App Purchase. These new beat-synchronized effects bring unprecedented creative expression to DJs on iOS and support real-time audio manipulation of both local tracks from iTunes and streamed tracks from Spotify.
The all-new built-in sampler adds another dimension of creativity that allows you to trigger sounds and create drum beats on top of your music. In addition to djay’s extensive pre-bundled content ranging from “Sound FX” to “Dubstep”, you can sample your music from iTunes on the fly to create and save your own sample banks that can be quickly loaded during a performance.
Personalize the look of your drum pad with 6 color choices.
Record live from playing decks to create your own one-shot samples.
Finding two songs that complement each other is one of the most challenging tasks when mixing music – for beginners and pro DJs alike. With the introduction of Harmonic Match, djay automatically detects a song’s key and allows to match it to songs of the same key within your music library. It allows you transpose songs into different keys, and even sort your entire music library by key, perfect for creating studio quality mash-ups of your songs.
Cue points and other metadata generated while using djay on your iPhone are automatically synced over-the-air to be readily available when performing live with your iPhone or Mac (and vice-versa).
djay takes full advantage of Apple’s AirPlay technology. Stream your mix wirelessly to Apple TV, AirPort Express station, or any AirPlay-supported speaker dock, AV receiver, and stereo system.
A number of hardware controllers were designed to seamlessly work with djay and are the perfect companions to enhance your DJ sets. Control djay on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch using touch-sensitive performance platters and hardware controls for crossfading, EQ, and effects.
