    djay for iPad wins 2011 Apple Design Award

    We are thrilled and honored that djay for iPad 1.2 won a 2011 Apple Design Award. The Apple Design Awards recognize outstanding achievement and excellence in iPhone, iPad, and Mac app design. Each year, winning products set new standards for the developer community to follow.

    djay for iPad 1.2 released: enhanced for iPad 2!

    Today we released djay for iPad 1.2, a free update for all existing user of djay for iPad. The update adds power features for iPad 2 users by taking full advantage the iPad 2’s high-performance dual-core processor. Most notably, we introduce supreme quality Time-Stretching (Key Lock) and an even higher precision audio analysis. Check out a demo video of the new features.

    Here is a summary of the changes:

    • Key Lock / Time-Stretching: change the tempo of a song without affecting its pitch (requires iPad 2)
    • High-Precision audio analysis: improves syncing, BPM detection, beat-grid, and waveform precision (requires iPad 2, enable in Settings > Advanced)
    • Loop / Cue snapping: auto-aligned to closest snare, base drum etc. (requires iPad 2)
    • Improved playback of recordings
    • Various minor improvements for all iPad models

    Today we released djay for iPad 1.1, a free update for all existing djay for iPad users, containing a ton of new features, improvements, and fixes! Most notably we have added looping in all flavors (auto, manual, bounce), multiple cue points, and BPM library browsing. In addition, we addressed stability and memory issues.

    Here are some of the most noteworthy changes:

    • Auto Looping (with on-the-fly half/double)
    • Manual Looping (in, out, reloop)
    • Bounce Looping (1/16 to 2 beats)
    • 3 additional Cue Points
    • BPM column in full screen library
    • Level meter swipe (gain adjust)
    • Added compatibility with Bluetooth audio devices
    • Extended support for AIFF and WAV files (requires iOS 4.3)
    • Improved library search
    • Fixed low memory issues
    • Fixed low memory related crashes
    • Various bug fixes and improvements
